In a digital health care organization
- Processes cross organizational and professional boundaries, so analysts map whole care pathways, including handoffs between clinicians, care staff, patients, and other organizations.
- Requirements often carry clinical risk, so analysts work with clinical safety officers to make sure safety-related requirements are captured, traced, and tested.
- Many requirements concern sharing health data between systems, so analysts need a working grasp of interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR and clinical terminologies such as SNOMED CT.
- Benefits in care are often about safety, quality, staff time, and patient experience, not only cost, so analysts help define measures that clinicians recognize.
