1. Awareness

You can:

• follow the organisation's financial procedures and schemes of delegation
• recognise signs of possible fraud or error and report them

2. Working

You can:

• operate key controls, such as separation of duties and supplier bank detail checks
• provide evidence to auditors and answer their questions
• check that spending is approved at the right level

3. Practitioner

You can:

• test and improve the controls for a financial process
• manage audit requests for an area and agree actions on findings
• write and update financial procedures
• work with counter-fraud specialists to reduce fraud risk

4. Expert

You can:

• own the organisation's financial rules and scheme of delegation
• report to the audit committee on financial control and audit actions
• lead the response to significant control failures or fraud
• build a culture where staff understand their duty to use public money properly
