Project manager
Project managers plan and deliver projects that change how the organization supports health and care, such as deploying a clinical system to new sites, moving services to new infrastructure, or introducing new digital tools for care staff. They control scope, time, cost, quality, and risk, using recognized project methods, and make sure projects deliver the benefits they promised for patients and staff.

In a digital health care organization
- Projects that change clinical systems or workflows need clinical safety assurance before go-live, so project managers plan hazard workshops, safety case sign-off, and clinical safety officer input into the schedule.
- Go-lives must not disrupt patient care, so project managers plan cutovers, business continuity arrangements, and floor-walking support with clinical and operational teams.
- Projects often need data protection impact assessments and information sharing agreements, so project managers plan these early with information governance colleagues.
- Benefits in care, such as staff time released or fewer errors, take time to appear, so project managers set up baselines and hand over benefits tracking to the service.
