In a digital health care organisation
- Digital work competes for funding with front-line care, so portfolio managers help leaders show the benefits of digital investment for patients and staff.
- Portfolio governance must include clinical safety, information governance, and cyber security assurance, so portfolio managers track these alongside time, cost, and scope.
- Many digital projects depend on capacity in clinical and operational teams, such as clinicians to test or staff to train, so portfolio managers watch for clashes in demand on services.
- Funding often comes from several sources with their own reporting rules and deadlines, so portfolio managers keep reporting accurate and on time.
